On November 7, 2004, the second battle of Fallujah began, code named Operation Phantom Fury. The battle spanned from November 7 to December 24, 2004, and is considered the bloodiest of the entire war in Iraq. It is also considered the biggest battle the Marine Corps has fought since the Battle of Hue City in Vietnam.
