USCGC Taney defends the power plant at Pier VI, Honolulu Harbor during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Taney was located approximately 8 miles from battleship row. She fired upon Japanese planes as she was able but was not credited with any kills. Immediately following the attack Taney began antisubmarine patrols and picket duties looking for a third wave.
